RJI offering free one-night hotel stay per organization for the first 40 that register by March 31
You’ve only got so much time and money, right?
You don’t believe you can afford to chase every opportunity that’s out there. And even if you could, you’re not sure you or your team would know how to do so in an efficient, effective manner.
Plan now to join your peers Thursday and Friday, April 14 and 15, at the Donald W. Reynolds Journalism Institute at the University of Missouri in Columbia. You’ll learn how community news organizations – weeklies, small dailies, and their websites – went from overwhelmed to overjoyed as they successfully tackled new opportunities.
You'll have the opportunity to not only learn the basics of social media, but actually build a page for your organization.
During the conference you’ll also learn how a family-owned group of weeklies brought in $400,000 in business in just 10 days. Does that get your attention? Want more? Save your spot and register today.
The conference is free.
RJI will pay for one hotel room for the night of April 14 at The Tiger Hotel for the first 40 organizations (one per organization) that register before March 31. See the travel page for more information.
The Tiger Hotel is located just a few blocks from RJI. Parking is available for $10 a... continued...

The Sunshine in Government Initiative (SGI) sent a letter to every senator encouraging support for legislation that would improve the way federal agencies respond to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests. “These changes would help ensure the government discloses information the way Congress intended a half century ago when Congress enacted the original Freedom of Information Act,” said Rick Blum, director of the Sunshine in Government Initiative. The coalition is composed of newspaper, media and journalist groups.
Citing the approaching 50th anniversary of the enactment of the federal FOIA on July 4, 1966, the coalition wrote, “now is the time for Congress to enact improvements to FOIA that will enhance... continued...
