MPF Raised $56,600!
We couldn’t have done it without you. The Missouri Press Foundation would like to thank all those who donated to the MPA Print Shop Museum campaign. With your help we reached our goal of $56,600 and provided Friends of Arrow Rock with funds to complete structural repairs currently underway to the building housing MPA’s Print Shop Museum.
In 1966, during Missouri Press Association’s 100th anniversary, MPA’s publishers and friends donated equipment and items to establish the Print Shop Museum in Arrow Rock. On display in the museum is a variety of letterpress printing equipment, including a Linotype, a newspaper flatbed press, job presses, Washington hand presses, hand-set type and other tools of the printing trade. The desk belonging to famous country editor H.J. Blanton of the Monroe County Appeal in Paris, is in the museum. Missouri Press Foundation owns the museum contents and contributes to the maintenance of the building.
The building, owned by the Friends of Arrow Rock, is now undergoing repairs to the foundation and the load-bearing support beams. In addition to structural repairs, central heating and air conditioning will also be added. Construction is scheduled to be complete spring 2017.
Thanks to your generous support, we will continue to preserve and showcase printing equipment and notable items reflecting Missouri’s rich print history for decades to come!

Thanks to the support of our generous donors, journalism students Ruth Serven, Matt Aten, Ashley Ulsh, Briana Saunders, Tayler Ward, Alec Lewis and Kora Chrzan are working alongside seasoned newspaper veterans.
They are learning the ropes and preparing to fill positions in the newspaper industry once they graduate from college. The future of Missouri newspapers looks brighter with these talented journalism students being shown the many newspaper opportunities available to them and the benefits Missouri newspapers have to offer.
You made this opportunity possible. We look forward to sharing with you their stories over the coming weeks. We hope you take pride in what you have helped us accomplish and know how truly grateful we are for your continued support.
