Missouri Press Association & Foundation Wins First Place
in NNA’s 2010 Best of Newspaper In Education contest
COLUMBIA, MO ‹ The Missouri Press Association and Foundation won First Place for State Programs in the National Newspaper Association’s 2010 Best of Newspaper In Education contest.
Other Missouri winners:
Columbia Daily Tribune: Two First Places in Innovation Awards, for Marketing and Sponsorship in the Daily Division; and a General Excellence award.
Washington Missourian: First Place in Innovation, for Literacy, in Non-daily Division; and a General Excellence award.
Awards will be presented at the awards reception on Saturday, Oct. 2, during NNA’s Annual Convention & Trade Show in Omaha. Places won in General Excellence will be announced at the reception.
A total of 22 awards were won by 13 newspapers and four press associations in 13 states.
Winners will be recognized in the September issue of Publishers’ Auxiliary and will include judges’ comments for first-, second- and third-place awards. Additionally, a selection of winning programs will be featured in upcoming issues of Publishers’ Auxiliary.
Judging was performed by community newspaper editors and publishers who have experience with Newspaper In Education programs.
