Edward "Ed" M. Anderson, 69, died Jan. 28, 2025, at a Springfield area hospital.

Anderson spent virtually his entire career in community newspapering, beginning his career as an advertising sales rep for Lakeland Newspapers in Grayslake, Ill. The company owned and operated a group of 13 suburban weeklies around Chicago.

In 1981, Ed started Ad-vantage Publications, Inc., in Hot Springs, S.D., publishing a community weekly newspaper and companion shopper.

In 1984, Ed was named general manager and marketing director at Tri-Lakes Newspapers in Branson. In 1988, he established Anderson Publishing, Inc., a magazine and book publishing company the produced Branson’s Review magazine, as well as a number of cookbooks and coffee table books.

He started National Media Associates, a print media brokerage and appraisal firm, in 1997 and operated the company until his death.

He is survived by his two children and two grandchildren.

A Celebration of the Life of Edward M. Anderson is set for 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 11 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.
