Kim Combs

Kimberly “Kim” Combs, 58, of Piedmont died May 30, 2026, during travels to Arkansas.

Combs joined the Wayne County Journal-Banner as a reporter in August 1990, and through her dedication to the newspaper and community advance to become manager of the newspaper and several other newspapers throughout southeast Missouri. She also was a respected leader in the community and the newspaper industry, including currently serving a term on the Missouri Press Association Board of Directors.

A devoted Christian, she cared deeply about her community and was involved in many local organizations throughout the years.

In addition to her husband, Scott, she is survived by a daughter, Addison; a grandson, Sutton; her parents, Dale and Glenda, a sister, Cindy; and many more family and friends. She was also looking forward to the birth of her granddaughter, Sawyer, this summer.

Visitation for Kim will be from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday, June 5, with funeral services at 2 p.m. at Ruegg Funeral Home in Piedmont. Burial will be in Kelly Cemetery. Find more obituary information here.
