Circulation of The Weston Chronicle: 1,300.
Issues per week and publication day: Once every Wednesday.
Who owns the newspaper? JANTOS LLC, where I am the chief executive officer.
In addition to publishing a newspaper, what other services do you/it provide? The Weston Chronicle provides print and digital advertising, legal-notice publication, community announcements and online news coverage. Through Jantos LLC, I also operate What’s Up Weston, a local tourism and events platform, and Armory, a strategic communication and digital solutions consultancy.
Number of full-time and part-time staff: I’m full time. My friend and business partner, Lynn Searcy, is our part-time ad sales lead. My husband and business partner, Andreas Jantos, is our chief technology officer in his free time.
Population of the town and county: City population is approximately 1,700 and county population is approximately 115,800.
Is the community growing, declining, or holding steady? Slow, steady growth rate of about 1%.
Your greatest challenge: Balancing the demands of producing a weekly newspaper with the long-term work of modernizing it, building a team and creating sustainable revenue—without sacrificing quality or community trust.
Newspaper’s biggest strength: Its generations of loyal readers who value trusted, truly local coverage and remain deeply invested in Weston and its stories since 1872.
Newspaper’s biggest weakness or obstacle to overcome: Transforming a lean, owner-dependent print operation into a financially sustainable, digitally relevant news organization—without losing the community trust and character built over more than 150 years.
Your family: My family includes my husband, our son, Julien, and our dog, Chance. After years of moving with the Army, we chose Weston and our historic home as the place to put down roots.
Your hobbies/interests: I enjoy reading, staying active, experiencing arts and culture, attending community events, and discovering the people and stories that make small towns special.
What is your favorite journalism accomplishment? Becoming the steward of The Weston Chronicle and helping ensure that a newspaper serving its community since 1872 remains locally owned, relevant and positioned for the future.
If you weren’t an editor or a publisher, what do you think you would be doing? I would probably be teaching communication and advising leaders through crises and major transitions. No matter the job, I would still be helping people understand complex issues and tell their stories.
List something that is interesting or unusual about you: I went from serving as a military police officer in combat to advising senior Army leaders—and then to publishing a small-town newspaper from a historic house.
