New Active member application to consider

The Independent Courier newspaper in Clarence has applied for MPA membership.

The Missouri Press Association has received an Active Membership application for The Independent Courier newspaper in Clarence. The publisher is James W. Johnston.

The Independent Courier is an independent weekly newspaper with circulation of 200. It is located at 214 N. Grand St., Clarence, MO 63437. Membership applications are considered by the MPA Board of Directors at its first meeting after this notice has been published in at least three issues of the Association’s magazine, Missouri Press News, and/or in the weekly eBulletin. The next scheduled meeting of the MPA Board will be Feb. 18, 2026, in Jefferson City.

During the February meeting, the MPA board will also consider the Active Specialty Publication Membership application for Missouri Life magazine.
