William Sidney “Sid” Jones III, 75, of Kennett died Aug. 8, 2026, at Piggott Hospital.
During his service as a military policeman in the U.S. National Guard, his duty stations included Panama and Saudia Arabia during Operation Desert Storm. His service also gave him opportunities to pursue his passion for photography.
In the 1980s, he began a long career with the Daily Dunklin Democrat (DDD), working under Jack Stapleton. He photographed everything and everyone for the newspaper, even producing photos for advertisements. His later roles included sports editor and staff photographer, and even for a time, circulation manager. After about 30 years with the DDD, he retired in March 2016.
In addition to his wife, Michele, he is survived by his son, William Sidney Jones IV; a stepson, William; his granddaughter, Ava; a brother, along with several more family members; and many friends.
