Dan Curry

Dan Curry began fielding questions from Missouri reporters and editors as the MPA’s hotline attorney in 2024. Curry has spent 20 years working as a trial attorney in Missouri. His firm, Brown, Curry & Duggan, LLC, is based in Kansas City, Mo. 

Prior to becoming a lawyer, Curry had stints in the Chicago bureau of the The Wall Street Journal and in Washington, D.C., working for The Chronicle of Higher Education. He then covered local news for The Examiner in Independence, Mo., for several years while attending law school.  

When Curry isn’t arguing in support of the Missouri Sunshine Law and the First Amendment, his practice focuses on advocating for victims of sexual abuse and helping veterans fighting for their due benefits. 

Curry lives in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Kansas City, Mo., with his two kids, Bea and Ben, and his two cats, Violet and Sunny.
