Originally from southern Missouri, Ellen attended the University of Missouri, where she earned her bachelor's degree in English Literature. Her experience includes working as a legal secretary and a legal office manager, in addition to serving as an administrative assistant for the City of Columbia. 

She dedicated a significant number of years volunteering for Hospice in Columbia before becoming the Tearsheet Coordinator for Missouri Press Service.

Ellen enjoys spending time with her two cats, her daughter and son-in-law, and her new grandson.
