Look What Your Ad Staff is Missing

In Foundation News On

The feedback has been outstanding after the first lesson in Tim Smith’s Advertising Sales Training webinar series. Missouri Press is offering newspapers a chance to participate in the remaining eight lessons.

We really enjoyed Tim’s session last week! We have already implemented some of his ideas in our everyday selling. He was informative, entertaining and encouraging. Can’t wait until the next session!

My ad manager made over 25 contacts Tuesday just as Tim instructed.  She was happy to accomplish her goal and to get a better percentage of sales than what is average.

This advertising sales training focuses on sales lessons, from outside display to inside sales reps and the classified department. Each session is held on a Thursday and Friday. You may participate at your desk or in a conference room with your staff. You will need a phone and, ideally, a computer.

If you cannot make either session during the month, Smith will arrange a separate time to conduct the session with you. Each session can be accessed by your entire staff or just key people — that is entirely up to you

Topics for the eight remaining monthly sessions will include:

  • Time and Territory Management
  • Prospecting that Pays
  • Dealing with Negative People and Difficult Customers
  • Communication Skills and Understanding Different Personalities
  • The Eight Steps to a Sales Presentation and Marketing Plans
  • Handling Objections – the top 5 objections we hear everyday and how to handle them
  • Closing Skills
  • How to Out Service the Competition

The cost per newspaper is $35 per month or $280 for the remainder of the series, which will run from May through December. Participating newspapers must commit to the series for the remaining eight months.

MPF is offering a discounted rate to multiple papers within one group that sign up to participate. For companies that register at least five newspapers, the cost per month will be $20 for each newspaper.

If your newspaper would like to be a part of this training series, contact Dawn Kitchell, Education Director for the Missouri Press Foundation,at dawn.kitchell@gmail.com or (636) 932-4301.
