Every newspaper that has authorized periodical mailing privileges should have completed and filed a Statement of Ownership, Management and Circulation with their local post office by Oct. 1. The form (PS 3526) covers circulation from Oct. 1, 2006, through Sept. 30, 2007. All periodicals are required to file the form each year to maintain periodical mailing privileges. Newspapers also must publish the form — dailies and semi-weeklies before Oct. 10 and weeklies before Oct. 31.
The post office will supply every newspaper with a PS 3526 but the form also can be downloaded directly from the USPS Web site (address below).Download the form at www.usps.com/forms/_pdf/ps3526.pdf.
