“Night at the Capitol,” a new 13-chapter serialized story from Missouri Press, is now available. The story is free to Missouri newspapers through the Reading Across Missouri project, an effort to have young people reading and learning inside their community newspapers in the new year. This is the 12th year for the project.

“Night at the Capitol” is an adventure that begins when Charlie, bored with life in Missouri and the class field trip he’s on at the Missouri State Capitol, stumbles upon characters from the past and helps save the night by tracking down a state treasure. Soldiers, Native Americans, outlaws, statesmen, authors and entertainers are the cast of characters in this overnight trip through time.

“Night at the Capitol” is intended for publication beginning in January. The story is available at no charge to Missouri newspapers through June 2016 thanks to the Missouri Press Foundation.
