Missouri Press Association Board Nominations

The Missouri Press Association nominating committee will be meeting in late-July to decide on candidates for 2014 MPA 2nd Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Three Directors and National Newspaper Association Representative.

 

If you want to be considered for any of the positions must complete a nomination form and return it to Missouri Press Association by July 1. The form has been emailed to MPA member newspapers.

Current MPA 1st Vice President Richard Gard, Missouri Lawyers Media, will move to MPA President on Jan. 1. 2nd Vice President Jim Robertson, Columbia Daily Tribune, will move to MPA 1st Vice President.

 

The terms of current MPA Directors Jon Rust, Cape Girardeau Southeast Missourian; Dennis Warden, Owensville Gasconade County Republican; and James Mahlon White, Warsaw Benton County Enterprise, will expire Dec. 31.  

 

MPA Secretary Taylor Smith, Perryville Perry County Republic, and MPA Treasurer (vacant) serve one-year terms, also expiring Dec. 31.

 

Trevor Vernon, Eldon Advertiser, is serving his third year as NNA Representative. According to MPA Bylaws, "the representative may not serve more than three years in succession at one time." Vernon’s term expires Dec. 31.
