Newspaper Bench Raffle to Benefit Newspaper In Education

Raffle tickets are available now for a unique bench created from Missouri’s newspapers. The bench will be raffled at the MPA Convention during the Awards Luncheon on Saturday, Sept. 7.

Each $10 ticket for a chance to win the bench is a tax-deductible donation to the Missouri Press Foundation. Proceeds will benefit Newspaper In Education.

There are three ways to purchase the $10 raffle tickets:

1.  Attend the MPA Annual Convention Sept. 5-7 in Kansas City. See the bench in person and purchase as many tickets as you would like. We will draw for the bench during the Awards Luncheon on Saturday, Sept. 7. If you win, you can carry it home — or back to your newspaper office!

2.  Visit the MPA store and buy as many tickets as you would like at $10 each using a credit card. MPA staff will fill out tickets on your behalf and include them in the drawing. Online tickets must be purchased on or before Friday, Aug. 30. Electronic receipt will serve as donation receipt.

3. Print this Newspaper_Bench_Raffle_Ticket.pdf on your printer and mail your tickets, along with a check payable to the Missouri Press Foundation. Raffle tickets and donations must be received on or before Friday, Aug. 30, to be included in the drawing. Please save a copy of your completed ticket for receipt of donation.

If you can’t make the convention this year (but we hope you CAN), and your name is drawn, you can pick up the bench at the MPA office in Columbia.

The bench is 50.5 inches wide and made of wooden slats with cast iron ends. For more information, contact Dawn Kitchell at (636)932-4301.
