Thank you to all who contributed to the Arrow Rock Print Shop Museum benefit Thursday, Sept. 10. We especially want to thank those who supported the event with their generous sponsorships.
More than 100 guests enjoyed an evening filled with Dixieland jazz music courtesy of Dixieland Garage, appetizers and Missouri-made beverages. Many won lottery tickets at the spin-the-wheel game provided by Missouri Lottery.
Dinner was served in the historic J. Huston Tavern. Fried chicken, salads and fresh peach cobbler were some of the many items on the menu.
After expenses, the final amount raised for the Print Shop Museum Benefit was $3,000. These funds will be used to cover the cost of significant work needed to repair and prevent future damage to the building housing Missouri Press Association’s antique printing equipment.
Thank you to all who attended and sponsored this event. With these repairs, Missouri Press Association will continue to provide a glimpse into the newspaper industry in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and show the important role they played in communities.
