Newspapers have your back

America’s Newspapers offers free marketing campaign to newspapers promoting subscriptions — in print or digital

“Newspapers have your back,” reads a new marketing campaign being rolled out by America’s Newspapers.  “We are grateful for those who have our back in this important time.”

Newspapers can download this series of print and social media ads at no cost.  The print ads include space for the name or logo of the newspaper publishing them.

Your readers are counting on you to bring them the news they need … when they need it.   And, the importance of the work that you do has never been more critical.

With this campaign, we remind readers that we are grateful for their support — through print or digital subscriptions.

These ads were produced in partnership with Sandpaper Marketing.

If you have any difficulty accessing the files, email Greg Watson at America’s Newspapers.

Specs ads

We are sharing a series of spec ads for newspapers to sell to local advertisers.

You can find the ads in one PDF here.

Let’s be creative in selling ads to our local businesses. While these ads may not be perfect for you, feel free to use them for inspiration for something that will work in your local market.

Here are a few ideas:
Lawn Services
Cleaning Service
Restaurants that offer curb side pick-up or take out
Banks with curtailed lobby hours and expanded drive-thru hours
Gardening shops
Pharmacies
Hardware and home improvement stores
Paint stores
Local utility offices with new payment options

The ads are 3 col x 5 and can be reduced to 2 col x 4.

The ads can be customized and emailed to advertisers – no need for face-to-face. You may want to offer a package and give advertisers options for two, three or four week schedules. Make the cost per insertion lower for the higher number of insertions.

Remind advertisers that newspapers are the prime source of reliable local news in your community, whether through print or digital products, in good times and in bad.

House ads

We also have some house ads you can use to remind your community that you are working with them to come out of this pandemic stronger.

You can find the house ads here.

PSAs

The News Media Alliance has partnered with the Ad Council to provide print and digital PSAs for newspapers’ use to help raise awareness about the importance of practicing social distancing during the coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic.

About the #AloneTogether Campaign

In response to the coronavirus pandemic, the Ad Council – in partnership with the federal government, public health partners, board member companies, major media networks and digital platforms – launched a series of national PSAs and multi-channel content to provide critical and urgent messages to the American public.

You can access the PSAs from NMA’s website here.
